Guy Michaels is the creator and founder of “Scream ‘N Shout: Kids with Character” Assembly Programs. In 2007, Guy miraculously overcame staggering odds after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor from his brain. He has defined himself as someone who “wanted to give back to the world” by sharing the precious gifts that he has been given since his episode. Upon recovery, he has embarked on his quest to best serve his mission.
Guy has succeeded in living a life through business, production, and entertainment. However, he was always reminded of the simple lessons in life that his parents, Arvis and Wanda, have bestowed upon him. When faced with life’s challenges, our choices truly are what define our character. This is the same motto that both of his parents drilled into his head, starting at a very early age.
The very same motto is the whole reason that Guy embarked on his journey to share life’s valuable lessons with schools throughout the country.
After many exhausted months of writing, producing, scripting, and testing, “Scream ‘N Shout: Kids with Character” was finally born. Then, can the extensive process of trying to convince strangers to take the chance with a relatively unknown school assembly. With such precautions in today’s school systems, you can only imagine how much difficulty followed this process.
To make a long story a little bit shorter, there was someone who gave “Scream ‘N Shout” a chance to prove themselves. The rest is school assembly history. Guy now has the honor of being able to travel to most anywhere in the lower 48 states and he has presented “Scream ‘N Shout: Kids with Character” to hundreds of schools and to tens of thousands of elementary and middle school students.
“Guy has a true heart for kids of all ages,” state a school principal of Waldorf, Maryland. “Guy has the ability to reach kids even when they are quite distant and completely difficult. How? I think it is due to his ability to reach them where they are on their own age or maturity level. “He does not force them to be who they are not!” says another principal from Livermore, California.
So, who exactly is Guy Michaels? He is a father, son, husband, and a brother who is on a mission. The mission was best spoken by Guy himself:
“The reason I do what I do, is because I was given a second chance at life. I was not suppose to survive the brain tumor, yet, I did. I made a deal, a promise, a pact; whatever you want to call it, but I decided that if I get out of this alive, I want to give back. What better way to give back than to share what I have learned with the future of this country?” said in a recent interview.
“Mr. G” is just a simple, everyday man trying to change the world, “one child at a time. He is a man who lives by the values instilled in him by his Father: “Be the change that you would like to see in this world.”
